Pitt River Adventures
STS Guiding Service offers anglers the opportunity to fish several hard to reach rivers located only a short distance from Vancouver. These rivers are accessed by Jet Boat only with limited angling pressure. We offer guided fly fishing adventures on the Upper Pitt, Lillooet River and several other remote rivers and lakes.
June/July offers excellent fly fishing for Sea-run Bulls from 1 to 8 lbs, Aug/September offers fly fishing for Sockeye Salmon, Rainbows and Cutthroat Trout. October is one of the best months for targeting Coho Salmon on the fly. These fish are considered some of the most challenging yet rewarding fish you will ever chase on the fly. Average size is 6 to 10lbs with good numbers of fish between 10 to 15 lbs.
Because of the location we only offer 8 hour trips.
These fish are migrating from the lower Fraser river and ocean to return to this pristine wilderness river located at the north end of Pitt Lake. This River is Jet Boat or Helicopter access only as there are no roads in. Located just 40 minute drive from Vancouver, Upper Pitt River is located at the North end of Pitt Lake, the largest tidal lake in North America. The resident trout are all wild stock – and incredibly beautiful. Good populations of resident trout and sea-run Char are in the river year round.
In late May through to middle of August we target sea-run Bull Trout that range in the 1 to 8lb range, average fish is about 2-3 lb range, sockeye and chinook salmon. This river is all catch and release with no kill limits.
We provide guide, boat and all fishing tackle including waders if needed. Fishing licenses can be purchased on-line before you arrive, we will forward license information with confirmation e-mail. You can bring your own lunch or purchase one through us for $20.00 per person.
