Trout fishing in Vancouver and surrounding area can be exceptional at times. We fly fish for two species of sea-run trout, Rainbow Trout, Cutthroat Trout & Dolly Varden. Our team of fly fishing guides can offer you a complete experience whether your wanting to fly fish for Steelhead, Bull Trout, Kamloops Rainbows or Coastal Cutthroat. We fish both rivers and lakes offering guided day trips on local and remote rivers, overnight camps in wilderness setting and combination fly fishing holidays from 2 to 14 days. River Fly Fishing for Trout Our fly fishing adventures begin only 40 minutes drive from Vancouver. We fish 7 river systems within 1 hours drive of Vancouver including one of British Columbia's best kept secrets. Trout fishing is a year round fishery with several peak periods when trout fishing is at it's best. Typically winter and spring offer some good fly fishing opportunities on several river systems, late May to June offers spectacular fly fishing for sea-run trout.
Pitt River - We are lucky enough to have one of British Columbia's best kept secrets just outside our back door. Located just 40 minutes drive from Vancouver, this isolated location has no road access and is only accessible by float plane or Jet Boat. Difficult access means no crowds. Upper Pitt River is located at the North end of Pitt Lake, the largest tidal lake in North America. The resident trout are all wild stock - and incredibly beautiful. Good populations of resident trout and sea-run Char are in the river year round. Approximately 40 miles of river awaits you.

Lillooet River - This river offers a unique opportunity for those looking for adventure. Getting there is half the fun, we either run jet boats across Harrison Lake then jet boat up this narrow shallow river or we fly you in via Helicopter. The Lillooet offers good angling for Cutthroat trout, rainbows and Dolly Varden Char in Winter, spring and fall. Great wildlife viewing opportunities for Bears, Deer, Eagles and the occasional Grizzly. This river adventure begins at Harrison Hot Springs located 90 minutes east of Vancouver.
Fraser River, Harrison River, Stave River, Vedder river, Chehalis River
The above mentioned rivers offer fair to good fishing for a variety of Trout. Mostly winter and spring fly fishing opportunities for small to medium sized trout although the Vedder & Chehalis both offer good winter fishing for sea-run trout or steelhead as they are better known. We also offer instructional guided fishing on these 5 river systems.
Stillwater Fly fishing for Kamloops Rainbows
Stillwater for Kamloops Rainbows - Best Times - Spring Chronomid & Mayfly hatches, early summer Caddis & Fall surface and Sub surface hatches as well as searching patterns.
British Columbia offers some of the best Stillwater fly fishing found anywhere in the world. With over 2000 lakes in the Merritt/Kamloops region you can experience fly fishing like never before. Since the early 1980's we have been exploring this region and have picked some of the best locations to offer to our guests.
STS Guiding is licensed for over 50 Stillwater lakes including several trophy private lakes that offer great fly fishing for large Kamloops Rainbows. Most lakes are within a 2 - 3 hours drive from Vancouver so day trips are possible. Our overnight outfitter camps are a great way to experience British Columbia outdoors.
Day Trips - If your looking for a day trip out of the city,our river fishing adventures are more suitable. If you can spare an extra day, it's best to drive out to Mission ( 1 hours drive from Vancouver) spend the night with us and head out at first light. We can offer a variety of fishing opportunities including our private lake located 2 hours north of Mission.
Overnight Camps - Our overnight camps come complete with everything you will need to experience an enjoyable fly fishing adventure holiday. Our outfitter tents come complete with cooking facilities, cots, bedding and everything you will need except clothing. We supply boats, fly rods, reels, fly's and all other fishing related items. On some of our camps we also bring along ATV's for afternoon wilderness rides into the mountains.
