Like most outdoor sports and activities you can find a wide range of products. Fishing products are much the same, you get what you pay for in most cases but not always. Like fishing tackle, anglers come in many shapes and sizes. There are anglers who occasionally fish with the family (2 to 5 times), anglers who get out with friends on weekends in the summer (5 to 10 times), anglers who only fish when fishing hot and weather is good (10 to 20 times) then there are diehard anglers who fish every chance they get, rain or shine (20 to 50 times) then there are guides like myself who fish between 150 to 300 days.

Each group has it's own level of experience and knowledge of fishing and tackle industry. Each group also looks at fishing very different. Those who frequent the local rivers and lakes ½ a dozen times a year would probably find a $100.00 fishing rod very expensive, on the other hand, an avid angler who's fishing 50 times a year would look at $100.00 rod as a starter set up. Myself being a guide, I want reasonable priced equipment but also need top quality performance and durability.
