Spring Fishing in the Fraser Valley
March / April / May / June
Springtime offers the angler a unique opportunity to experience Trout, Steelhead and Sturgeon fishing in the Fraser Valley and surrounding area. This is when resident species like Bull Trout, Cutthroat, Rainbow Trout and Sturgeon become hungry and active and migrating fish like Steelhead and larger Bull Trout make their way back to home rivers. The seals begin migrating up from Oregon to feed on the Elichons in the Fraser and the Bald Eagles begin to nest in surrounding tree's. Below we have outlined what we think is the key fisheries to take advantage of during each season. We do fish year round so even if your schedule doesn't allow you to visit during peak periods we still can offer you good angling opportunities.

Steelhead
The Fraser Valley area offers good opportunities for local and visiting anglers to catch steelhead during spring months. We offer several types of steelhead fishing adventures, whitewater rafting down a pristine canyon, hike and wade trips on the Vedder River and Jet boat trips on one of the more scenic rivers in the area. STS Guiding has full access to one of the more remote rivers in the area. We offer winter and spring steelhead fishing as well as trout and char fishing while fishing for that trophy steelhead. This remote adventure is only a short distance from Vancouver offering our clients a unique angling experience while fishing one of British Columbia's best kept secrets. We offer fully guided day trips out of Vancouver or multi-day packages with stays up to a week or more.

Sea Run Bull Trout
Trout fishing is at it's best during the spring. This is when salmon fry begin to emerge from the gravel beds so trout are very aggressive and hungry. The average size varies from river to river, we fish several rivers that contain trophy sized trout including sea run rainbows (steelhead) and sea run Bull Trout. We fish several rivers that contain 3 species of trout and steelhead so your chances at hooking good numbers of fish are greatly increased.

Sturgeon
Sturgeon fishing is a year round fishery on the Fraser River. Spring brings our annual migration of the Eulichons (small bait fish) to the Fraser river to spawn. Food in winter is scarce so when the Eulichans arrive the Sturgeon are eager to feed, it's not uncommon to hook 15 to 20 fish in a 8 hour trip. This is a great time to experience the area as there is an abundant amount of waterfoul and wildlife. Eagles are perched in the tree's and Seals and Sea-Lions are feeding on salmon fry and Elichons. We can offer you a full day of sturgeon fishing or a sturgeon/steelhead combination during this great spring fishery.
